Bier Descriptions

Helles
Helles is the great beer of Bavaria. the Munich Helles is historically the first Munich blond lager. a straw-colored blond lager w/ an abv of 5.5%.
A traditional German ale, originating in the Rheinland region. the best known Altbiers come from Düsseldorf. copper in color, cool fermented, & cold conditioned. the presence of aromatic hops, medium bodied, creamy head & dry to the finish, 5.8% abv.
Dunkel
The forerunner for most beer styles made in Germany. a bavarian dark lager. deep brown, mahogany in color, full bodied, w/ a chewy texture, creamy long-lasting head. very malty w/ very little hop bitterness. clean lagered taste without fruitiness. 5.5 % abv.
Latzenbier
A darker, stronger variation of the Düsseldorf Altbier. full-bodied & well hopped. balanced between nutty-malty Seetness & bitterness. strong chocolate notes, dark copper in color, creamy head, complex flavor. 6.9% abv. the name latzenbier.
Summer
Weissbier
Made from a pale malted wheat giving it a yellowish-white color. Commonly known as a hefeweizen. Containing 60-70% malted wheat, & 30-40% malted barley. Clove-like, banana flavor, mildly hopped, w/ a large creamy head. 5.5 % ABV.
Fall
Oktoberfest
Rich German malt, w/ no fruitiness or hop aroma. complex maltiness w/ a toasted aspect. medium bodied, creamy texture, solid off-white head 5.8% abv. "typically brewed in the spring, signaling the end of the traditional brewing season & stored in cold caves or cellars during the warm summer months. 
Fall
Dunkelweiss
The dark version of the Weissbier. the Dunkelweiss is made from a mixed mash of wheat & barley malts, but unlike a Weissbier, it also contains a large array of lightly to thoroughly caramelized or roasted malts that give it both its color & its complexity. wheat ale, overlaid w/ chocolatey to roasted flavors. 5.5% abv.
Imperial Stout
Rich‎ & complex, full bodied, velvety, luscious texture. Intensely flavored dark ale, w/ a high alcohol content. Low to moderate levels of carbonation w/ huge roasted, chocolate & burnt malt flavors. Suggestions of dark fruit & flavors of higher alcohols are quite evident. Hop character can vary from none, to balanced to aggressive. 9% ABV.

Doppelbock
A malty, darker version of the bavarian Bockbier. medium bodied, w/ a traditionally low carbonation. complex Munich & Vienna malts give it a toasty flavor, w/ very little bitterness. 10% abv.
Winter
Weizenbock
A stronger version of the Weissbier. at least 50 percent wheat malt, w/ the remaining being a Vienna or Munich malts. light amber in color, full-bodied w/ a malty finish. slight clove flavors are present. most bocks are lagers, but the Weizenbock is an ale. 8.5% abv.
Spring
Maibock
The Bavarians' strong, golden lager. the Maibock is brewed entirely w/ pale malts for a warm golden hue. it is also more aggressively hopped than others bocks for a refreshing finish. deep gold in color, large creamy white head. moderate carbonation, w/ a medium body. 8.5 % abv.
Baltic Porter
A rich malty dark reddish copper to dark brown beer. thick, tan colored head. Full bodied & smooth, well-aged alcohol warmth. Not heavy on the tongue, due to the carbonation. Reminiscent of the English brown porter & a Schwarz bier. Complex & multi-layered. 8.5% abv. Originating from countries boarding the Baltic sea, derived from English porters, & influenced by the Russian imperial stout.
